Concrete Parking Lot Construction Nampa ID - Drive Lanes & Heavy-Duty Paving

A concrete parking lot costs more up front than asphalt, and owners choose it where heavy trucks, tight turning loads and a long service life matter most. We build new concrete lots, drive lanes and heavy-duty sections, and rebuild failed areas of existing lots, from your plans.

Nampa Requires Paved Parking

Nampa City Code 10-22-5.F requires that, in any zoning district, all areas where vehicles travel, park or are stored be paved with asphalt or concrete. Limited exceptions exist, such as screened commercial or industrial storage yards and certain heavy-truck and RV storage lots. Parking stalls also have to be striped (10-22-5.A).

When a Rebuild Triggers a Permit

This catches property owners off guard. Under 10-22-5.K.4, a Civil Site Improvement permit is required when a parking lot is expanded, or torn up and reconstructed, as opposed to just resealed or restriped. The rebuilt area then has to meet current code, including landscaping and ADA parking. That can mean adding interior planters, which Nampa requires at intervals of no more than 90 feet in a parking bank, and meeting the 5% landscaping minimum. It's worth knowing before you budget a "simple" replacement.

Design Details We Build To

  1. Drive aisle widths: at least 20 feet for two-way and 12 feet for one-way service drives without parking (10-22-3.B.6), wider where stalls back into them.
  2. Accessible stalls: under the 2010 ADA Standards, car spaces at least 96 inches wide, van spaces 132 inches, access aisles at least 60 inches, with slopes no steeper than 1:48. See accessible parking and curb ramps.
  3. Drainage: slopes to inlets or swales so water doesn't sit and freeze.
  4. Heavy-duty sections: thicker concrete where garbage trucks, delivery vans and fire apparatus travel.

Joints and Phasing

Concrete pavement is laid out in panels, and the joint plan decides where it cracks. We follow the engineer's joint layout, or propose one, and pour in phases so a business can keep part of the lot open. Fresh panels stay closed to traffic until they've reached the strength the spec calls for.

Priced From Plans

We don't publish a per-square-foot price for commercial paving, because thickness, base, reinforcement, drainage and phasing vary too much from one site to the next. Send the civil plans or a site address, and we'll send a line-item bid.

Pads That Go With Parking

Trash enclosures take the heaviest wheel loads on most lots, and asphalt there tends to rut. See dumpster pads for concrete pads and loading dock aprons.
