Commercial Concrete Flatwork Nampa ID - Walks, Plazas & Site Concrete
Retail centers, offices, churches, schools, clinics and apartment complexes in Nampa all run on flatwork: the walks between buildings, the entry slabs at the doors, the plazas where people gather, and the pads that hold signs, benches and equipment. We bid commercial flatwork from your plans and specifications and build it to them.
Call or send the form. Either way, you get a site visit and an itemized quote.
Bid From Plans, Priced Line by Line
Commercial concrete is priced from the drawings, not from a per-square-foot guess. Thickness, reinforcement, base, finish, joint layout and phasing vary too much from one site to the next. Send the plans and specs, and we'll return a bid with each of those on its own line so you can compare contractors on equal terms. If there are no plans yet, we'll walk the site with you and write up a scope your designer can build on.
Site Walks and Accessible Routes
Nampa's Design Review Guidelines ask developments to provide on-site walks connecting parking areas to the primary entrances, to public spaces and out to the right-of-way, built to ANSI accessibility standards. Under the 2010 ADA Standards, a walking surface can have a running slope no steeper than 1:20 and a cross slope no steeper than 1:48; anything steeper becomes a ramp. We set forms to the design grades and check them before concrete is placed. Ramps and curb ramps are covered on our ADA ramps and accessible routes page.
Plazas and Entry Slabs
Nampa's guidelines define a plaza as a pedestrian space paved with concrete or masonry, with landscaping and amenities, and require landscape plazas on new development sites in the Downtown Business subdistrict. Plaza and entry concrete is where finish matters most: broom texture for traction, colored or exposed aggregate bands to mark entrances, and joint patterns laid out to look intentional around planters and columns.
Permits on Commercial Sites
In Nampa, new construction or a redesign of a site goes through a Civil Site Permit, with a plan showing curb cuts, drainage, accessible spaces and ramps and construction details (City Code 10-22-5.E). Any improvement in the public right-of-way, including curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway approaches, also needs a right-of-way permit from the City Engineer's office before construction (10-22-5.D.1). We schedule pours around the inspections those permits require.
Keeping a Business Open
Most commercial flatwork happens around tenants and customers who still need to get in. Pours are phased so at least one entrance stays open, fresh concrete is barricaded, and temporary walks are set where needed.
